That's what proponents of the “raw water” movement are banking on: selling people on the idea of drinking water that contains the things they say nature intended without the chemicals, such as chlorine, often used in urban water treatment processes.
In some areas of the country, including the West Coast, it has become a high-dollar commodity — water captured in glass bottles and sold straight to you.I have raw water. Other than filtering out stuff larger than 1 micron, it is just as it comes out of the ground. Who wants to supply the bottles and marketing to stupid West Coasters?

Dysentery is one of those little things that separates us from the rest of the world. A friend of mine went to India many years ago. He says the worst night of his life was spent hovering over a hole in the floor with uncontrollable diarrhea. I love treated water.

ReplyDeleteNeil De Grasse whatever thinks that global warming is science because the eclipse was predicted and the global warming is also predicted, therefore -- Science! Never mind that we can not only predict the track of the eclipse, we can predict what percent of totality the eclipse will have at particular distances to the left and right of the track. The Catastrophic Anthropogenic Global Warming panic sellers can't even get the amount of arctic ice there will be 25 years after global warming was allegedly discovered.
And as for that natural water, if they aren't kept refrigerated, will any of them exlplode? Or do they bottle them in beer bottles that might hold the pressure of the gasses the bacteria, cryptosporidium and
giardia cysts might produce?
What sort of warning labels do they require so the stupid Yuppies don't sue when they get the natural result of drinking ditch water that was filtered so sediment won't show in the bottle?
AS for stupid fads, in France around the time of Louis XVI, it was believed by the more-money-than-brains rich crowd that there were healthful effects to be gained by digging holes and burying people up to their necks. After the initial chill, the experience was stiflingly hot. The fad lasted long enough for many people to try it, but the founder caught cold that developed into pneumonia and he died from the effects of the fad he started.
I'd be happy to send bottles and a proposed liability release for customers to sign, but I don't think the fad will last the year out (At least I hope).
