Hurricane Frequency

The leftist media (but I repeat myself) are calling Harvey and Irma signs of the coming AGW apocalypse.  Euanmeans.com points out that measures of landfall hurricanes total hurricane energy show that they are not increasing in either frequency or power:

Top graph is count of landfall Atlantic hurricanes.  Also:
Another metric for measuring hurricane and tropical storm intensity is the ACE (Accumulated Cyclone Energy) index, which is defined as the sum of the squares of the maximum sustained surface wind speed (knots) measured every six hours for all named storms while they are at least tropical storm strength. The graphic below plots the North Atlantic ACE index since 1950. The trend line is dead flat.
