Remember Blazing Saddles?

Funny in a crude way, making fun of Old West racism: "Stop, or I'll shoot," as the black sheriff takes himself hostage from a racist mob.  Nevada County Scooper:
Grass Valley, CA — Protests broke out late this week as a group of activists marched in front of Grass Valley’s Del Oro Theater after the establishment announced plans to show a special weekend matinee of Mel Brooks 1974 comedy film Blazing Saddles. The protesters, who object to the use of what they see as racist themes in the iconic film, say that the movie isn’t funny, and promotes unrealistic portrayals of Irish people around the world.
“This is completely inappropriate to make fun of the Irish,” shouted Nevada City community and chemtrail activist Sairhra Ramun out in front of the Del Oro Theater on Mill Street in Grass Valley. “It is simply not funny to make fun of people based on their heritage, skin color or their faith. This has no place in Nevada County. I have spoken with many of my Irish friends, and they do not find this funny in the least.”
Is this parody?  How could you tell?  Progressives are so crazy that you can't tell.  Apparently it is parody.

  1. Whenever anyone complains about the treatment or depiction of the Irish, it's either parody or an effort at political commentary.
While the "No Irish, no dogs" sign may or may not have been genuine, the Irish were transported, first to the Caribbean, then the colony of Georgia, and then Australia, after it became apparent that they didn't do so well in the heat.

  2. My clues it was a parody: the outrage over the portrayal of the Irish, rather than of blacks, the great comment about 20 minutes of ranting about Howard Zinn being elided from the article, and the big one--the disclaimer at the bottom of the page that it's a parody site. :)

    1. Yeah, that last one is one heck of a huge giveaway. :)

  3. Yes, this is parody. I live near Grass Valley, I know this theater, and there has been no showing of BLAZING SADDLES scheduled. Check the rest of the site and you'll find a picture of ISIS firing a ATGM from the roof of this very same theater, among other absurdities.

  4. It was nice of them to reference the old "Dihydrogen Monoxide" meme.
