Ever Wanted Your PC to be a Hotspot?
The ability to use a smartphone as a local wireless provider is one of the coolest features of a smartphone. You can do it with your PC as well using Connectify. I downloaded the free version to help a friend. I discovered that it doesn't seem to work if you try to share your wireless connection (probably because the same hardware is used for both the hotspot and your WiFi connection. But sharing my Ethernet connection worked fine. My smartphone hooked up to the Connectify hotspot and gave me about 3.5 Mbps download speed.
