Why Travel Insurance Matters

Two years ago, I could not go to Texas because of a stroke.  I cancelled the flight and received a $200 flight credit that had to be used within a year.  So worthless.  For the last two trip resvations I made, I bought travel insurance that covers you if you or a companion traveller gets sick.

My wife/research assistant/ersatz nurse has been in severe abdominal pain for a couple days and decided this morning she was too sick to fly to Connecticut for research  The travel insurance is going to cover this.
