I needed to keep debris from the mill off the notebook keyboard and generally simplify cleanup, so I glued a couple pieces of 17x27" acrylic together. Hard to see them because they are clear. Going to add another one in a few days. This at least keeps everything going the same way.
That table looks too unstable for a mill. The table may be moving in reaction to the stages and the cutting action, and could be inducing feed-back into their movement. Chatter may be one of the results. I'd suggest a decent workbench quality table construction to eliminate this possibility.

There are many different silicone "keyboard condoms" that are designed for applications like this.
