Windows 10 HomeGroups

I have a HomeGroup shared by my Windows 7 PCs, but on my wife's Windows 10 PC, the HomeGroup troubleshooter has not a clue what the problem is.  I am reluctant to upgrade my other PCs to 10 until I figure out why 10's HomeGroup doesn't work.  There's a lot of discussion of how this doesn't work on 10, but no solutions.
