A Bad Sign of Distrust
The mill stopped moving in the Y direction and I assumed mechanical failure. I took the Y axis assembly pretty far apart and found nothing wrong. The controllr plugs in through paraleel port, and it had pulled just loose enough to stop sending control signals for Y. Plugged it back in after reassembling Y axis and it works fine.
I'm surprised the connectors don't have the retaining screws, or spring clips, especially being used with a machine that produces vibrations.
