Why Florida Is Awash in Billboards for Personal Injury Lawyers
Floridians drive fast and crazy. Tailgating, refusing to yield cutting between cars with a foot to spare at 60 mph.
That was not my experience, though I didn't drive in Miami, where there is a large percentage of Latin drivers (I'm assuming that many Latin drivers follow the only rule of Italian of driving: never be behind anyone.)
The big problem I noticed in Florida was the bi-modal distribution of driver ages: there are lots of very old drivers and lots of relatively young drivers, making for two speed modes on the streets, which is always dangerous.
I've not been to Florida outside an airport in decades, but Allen's experience was summed up to me as the "80-20 rule" - the 80-year-olds drive 20, and the 20-year-olds drive 80.
