Windows Sucks
.My wife's PC suddenly can't print the network printer although test pages print fine. Word claims no printer installed.
UPDATE: Rebooting solved the problem (whatever it was).
I know this sounds like a one note opera, and that you have light-years more IT expertise, but I stopped having any computer problems in 2006, when I switched to Mac. I used PC's from circa early 80's, so it was hard for me to believe what I thought was hype. I am now all Mac/Apple for everything: desktop, notebook, pad and phones.
Seamless.
For network issues, there are none, I do not have to do anything. It finds itself.

Anyway, I hope you find a solution.
Just buy another Windows computer for printing. It is easier than troubleshooting a printer driver problem.
