Trying to Mount a Windows SMB on CentOS

These instructions fail when trying to install samba3-client with yum.  Suggestions?  Looks like samba3-client is now samba4-client.

Nor do any other instructions I have found work.  This used to be pretty easy.  Did Microsoft pay people to make this haqrd to discourage Linux?

  1. Try running "yum provides */mount.cifs". That should tell you what packages in the repository has the client you need.

  2. This looks more up to date.

  3. In Fedora 22, the mount.cifs program is provided by the 'cifs-utils' package.
