Is This Art?
Someone I go to church with puts these together from wood he finds in the forest. I think it is too artistic to qualify for a National Endowment for the Arts grant, but is there a market for it?
Yes, its art. Yes, there's a market. Problem is...how to find the market. There used to be a store on the main drag of Gatlinburg, TN that sold items like this. Don't know if it's still there. Now most the crafty stuff is sold on the "craftsman's loop". But other than going there and knocking on doors...don't have a clue how he could reach out to the shops there.
Not my style, but I agree with you that it's much to artistic to qualify for tax money.
ReplyDeleteTell them to put some on Etsy and Ebay and see what happens. Maybe they can also find a local consignment store to put some on display for sale.
ReplyDeleteI think they would have to look like genitalia to qualify for an endowment grant (bad pun intentional).
