Homelink Frustration

The Jaguar has the HomeLink controls in the rear view mirror, so you can use those buttons instead of a remote control for your garage door opener, lighting systems, starting World War III, etc.  I could not get the instructions in the Jaguar manual to work, but these worked.

    It is amazing to me that cars from every manufacturer can talk to automatic garage-doors from every manufacturer, and all that is required to set them up is an instruction sheet specific to your model.
    I've seen clocks where setting the time was more difficult.
