New York's 1787 Buggery Statute
New York's 1787 buggery statute, vol. 1, p. 336 here.
Slightly revised in 1788 at vol. 2, p. 73 to exclude benefit of clergy:
Any non-vaginal sexual intercourse, or vaginal intercourse with an animal, constitutes buggery under the statute passed by Parliament during Henry VIII's reign. I would be curious to know if there is a connection to Anne Boleyn and the tricks that she used to "bewitch" him.
"...every person thereof convicted... shall be hanged by the neck until he or she shall be dead."
ReplyDeleteHow can a woman commit buggery?
