Finally, An Honest Admission: "Next Messiah"

Barbara Walters explaining the disappointment that she and many other leftists felt.  Piers Morgan asked her why there is so much disappointment about Obama:
BARBARA WALTERS: Well, you've touched on it to a degree. He made so many promises. We thought that he was going to be - I shouldn't say this at Christmastime, but - the next messiah.

UPDATE: A reader makes the observation that the media sorts think of themselves as extraordinarily smart and educated when statements like the above suggest that they lack the intelligence of some household appliances.  Just because you are rich does not mean that you are smart.

  1. Truly, I thought this was a rare admission. Then again, especially in conjunction with Peggy Noonan's recent rather dimwitted writings in the W$J, I am simply struck by the fact that the folks in Hollywood, New York, and DC, who apparently like to think of themselves as deep thinkers, actually serve as examples of rather slow-thinking folks.

    Of course, the King of such slow thinkers just has to be Mr. David Brooks. He is consistently stupid.

  3. Money just gives you the ability to more fully express the depth and breadth of your stupidity. Contrary to my ex's mother's belief, no importance should be attached to the utterances of the rich merely because they are rich.
