Chocolate Rations Are Up By Ten Grams

To paraphrase the example from 1984 where Winston has to keep changing the past to keep up Big Brother's ever changing future:
PRESIDENT OBAMA: Now, if you have or had one of these plans before the Affordable Care Act came into law and you really liked that plan, what we said was you can keep it if it hasn’t changed since the law passed. So we wrote into the Affordable Care Act, you're grandfathered in on that plan. But if the insurance company changes it, then what we're saying is they've got to change it to a higher standard.
What he said in 2009, according to the November 4, 2013 USA Today:

"If you like your doctor, you will be able to keep your doctor, period," Obama said in a speech to the American Medical Association on June 15, 2009. "If you like your health care plan, you'll be able to keep your health care plan, period. No one will take it away, no matter what."

Every promise from that liar's lips has an expiration date.  And a revision date, too.

I keep wondering: does anyone under 35 care that they were lied to by this guy?  And that he keeps lying?  And isn't even slightly bothered by it?

  1. "But if the insurance company changes it ..."

The ACA forces some plans to change, so it's sort of a double lie.

  2. This hits a mass of people in the middle class in the pocket book, some very hard, so, yeah, at that point, seems likely that people will start paying attention.

That's the reason the media is finally paying attention as well.

  3. asdf: As I understand it, no. But if there are any changes to your plan besides the premiums, e.g. co-pays up by $5, it loses grandfathering, per HHS regulations, which are much tighter than the law requires.

Alcibiades: Given the above, one can be forgiven for wondering if sticking it to the kulacks was an Administration priority....

  4. It's more that the Journalist class is discovering the 'minor problems' with the ACA, when it affects them.

    Cheers
