Clinkingbeard

News coverage from the March 20, 2012 Idaho Statesman gives more details on what Cynthia Clinkingbeard did that brought her to the attention of police:

Store employees told police that Clinkingbeard — who filed as a Democratic candidate in the May 15 primary race for the 1st District congressional seat held by U.S. Rep. Raul Labrador — walked into the store late Friday to ask about printing campaign posters.
But Clinkingbeard began “making strange statements about politics and religion,” like telling employees they were “going to meet God,” police said.
Clinkingbeard was waiting for a ride at the front of the store when, employees told police, she pulled a 9mm pistol out of a shoulder holster and pointed it at the back of a store manager. Police said she turned on a laser-targeting system and told employees that if she were anywhere else, she would “cap him.”
The employees told police Clinkingbeard then pointed the gun at least twice more at other employees before leaving the store.
Yes, I think there is reason to think she has a mental illness problem.  Some comments seem to indicate that she was hospitalized against her will for several months at the state mental hospital in Blackfoot some years ago.  This would make it illegal under federal law for her to own or purchase a firearm, and she certainly could not have had a concealed weapon permit.  She is apparently being moved to a locked mental hospital while awaiting trial.  She has a rather extensive (although often sealed) court history here.

  2. If you look at the cases that were not sealed you will see that there is one for child support with both parties being women. Could it be that she has gotten away with stuff in the medical field and in the University by claiming that attempts to make her adhere to accepted norms are actually institutional homophobia?
