So Glad The Semester Is Almost Over
I love teaching. It is important. I am not independently wealthy yet, so I can't really do it for the fun (and no sane person teaches with the expectation of living on what colleges pay). I am so glad that the semester is almost over, so that I can try and remember what I used to do for fun.
I don't like teaching so much, but I really enjoy tutoring! Unfortunately, I have the impression that I'm less likely to make a living as a tutor, than as a professor...and I certainly wouldn't be able to become a full-time tutor. (Tutoring is for advanced undergraduates and first-year graduate students, silly mathematician!)
ReplyDeleteActually, if I could nuke my debt, and purchase a house with cash, it would be surprising how little I could make, and still be able to save for the future...
What I love most about teaching at our community college is the students.
ReplyDeleteBut what annoys me most about teaching at our community college is the students ...
lately, the sense of entitlement and whining about expectations has been getting to me.
