Dry Fire Training Systems
Do any of you have experience with dry fire pistol training tools? Strikeman makes one that seems well-regarded. Being able to get immediate feedback about why you are off and being to able to practice at home is attractive.
So far it has been reliable in both my 1911's and in my M&P. Several tens of thousand cycles between them over the years. The barrel reservoir lasts between 10 and 15 "shots" before needing to be refilled.
You do have to refill the CO2 bottle periodically, but not that often. MY only complaint is that there is no gauge for pressure in the filling station. I like it because the slide movement, while not true recoil, is somewhat similar and does require you to reacquire the target in a realistic manner.
I use the paintball tanks, but many city dwellers prefer the Sodastream type bottle because of availability. YMMV
