Turning Steel

I bought a piece of hot rolled DOM tube yesterday.  The lathe did a fine job of squaring it and boring.  I just needed to reduce the feed rate a bit compared to aluminum.  I also found that getting the tube exactly square to the chuck mattered more, perhaps because being off-center meant more mass trying to pull itself out of the chuck.
