How to Destroy A Nation's Health
4/7/16 Guardian has an article about how government public health authorities and their focus on animal fats led to promotion of carbohydrates as the healthier diet, in spite of strong evidence that carbohydrates are really the heart disease risk. Worth reading in full, along with a big slab of bacon.

It's amazing how long the old myths persist. In the March 8 "Non Sequitur" strip a doctor tells his overweight patient, "the meat and dairies chart says you're a great American."

Cursory observation of the obese poor should make it obvious that meat and dairy is not the source of dietary imbalance.
