More Evidence THAT GOPe's Efforts to Dump Trump Are to Protect Liberalism

The Wrap:  Bill ?Kristol apparently quoting from  Marx.  What?  Workers of America unite.  You have nothing to lose but $2/hour illegal immigrant competitors and $10/hour H1bs?
Silicon Valley may be a bastion of liberals, but the threat of a Donald Trump presidency had some of technology’s biggest names meeting behind closed doors with members of the Republican elite.
Apple CEO Tim Cook, Google co-founder and Alphabet CEO Larry Page, billionaire Facebook investor Sean Parker and Tesla Motors CEO Elon Musk met with GOP officials last weekend to talk about stopping the mogul-turned-reality-star from becoming president, according to a report by The Huffington Post, citing people familiar with the event.
“There was much unhappiness about his emergence, a good deal of talk, some of it insightful and thoughtful, about why he’s done so well, and many expressions of hope that he would be defeated,” Weekly Standard editor Bill Kristol wrote in an emailed report that the Huffington Post obtained and that borrowed from unlikely source material — Karl Marx’s “The Communist Manifesto.”

  1. GOP efforts to dump Trump are about saving the Republican Party and conservatism.

Trump is a RINO. You would have no confidence in the survival of the 2nd Amendment under Trump - just wait until he puts his sister on the Supreme Court. Trump doesn't respect the Constitution... heck, Trump doesn't respect anyone. He is just good at figuring out what people want to hear, and saying it in a way that appeals to angry people.

He is a narcissist who cannot take criticism and will give away the store to anyone who strokes his ego (e.g. Putin). He is an ignoramus about important issues, such as national defense. He has a delusion that you can run the government the same way you run a business.

The people are right to be really PO'ed. Unfortunately, Trump is not even close to the solution.

  2. I agreeee about Trump's ignorance. But how to get GOPe's attention? They have still not gotten the message.

  3. Well since the GOPe doesn't give a shit about us they won't care. Unfortunately we may have to try and start a real Conservative party after Hillary gets elected. I'm praying that won't have to pass but it ain't looking good is it...

If Bernie sticks to his Socialist "guns" and runs on another ticket after Hillary wins the DNC ticket we just might have a chance to get somebody in this November--the votes will split between him and the DNC and they lose. If he tells his under forty "free goodies for everybody" kiddies to vote for her to stop Trump or Cruz we get Hillary.

  4. "GOP efforts to dump Trump are about saving the Republican Party and conservatism." Saving conservatism??? Who are you trying to kid? Those clowns haven't been conservatives for decades!

  5. @Clayton - the GOPe is clueless. The good news is that Ted Cruz is not. The other good news is that the GOPe doesn't matter as much as they used to, as they are painfully finding out.

If Cruz gets the nomination, the GOPe will have no choice but to go along. If Trump gets it, they may go along but enthusiasm among conservatives will drop radically.

@Will - many are conservative. Are you telling me that Cruz isn't a conservative? The problem isn't as much a lack of conservatism as it is an unwillingness to stand up for it in Congress.

Also, Trump is simply not a conservative. That is a feature, not a bug to many of his supporters. It is no accident that he wins best in states where Democrats are voting in the Republican primaries! Trump is a big government moderate - exactly like the squishes that his supporters hate so much. The only difference is that Trump isn't afraid of the PC police, so he can say things that everyone has been wanting to hear for a long time. But don't be fooled - Trump is "flexibile." Heck, he doesn't mind replacing my colleagues with H-1B immigrants. He didn't mind building his hotels, in the US, with imported foreigners.

  6. No question Cruz will push the GOPe's nose into its excrement, but Cruz may be toon obviously Christian to be electable in modern America. Trump, no danger.
