Who will break the blockades that form around them to deliver food?Nathanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00972200511870503576noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2807403883562053852.post-24687495146024139202021-02-26T18:23:54.866-07:002021-02-26T18:23:54.866-07:00For fun, mixed with sadness at times, read Kurt Sc...For fun, mixed with sadness at times, read Kurt Schlicter's series of novels about the US splitting into red and blue countries. Schlicter's excellent humor combines with his only a bit exaggerated blue state craziness.StormCchaserhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02998174514362089471noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2807403883562053852.post-67741374643923742312021-02-24T21:00:51.356-07:002021-02-24T21:00:51.356-07:00That "analysis" is flawed in so many way...That "analysis" is flawed in so many ways. The productive, freedom-loving Republicans from every blue state would flee to a red area where they could live their lives as they see fit. What would that do to the GDP of the respective red and blue areas?

Anyway, the split would not be along state boundaries. It would be a bloody, neighbor-against-neighbor, urban-vs-rural struggle in every state--Yugoslavia writ large and orders of magnitude more horrendous.Jay Karamaleshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16371524589931023208noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2807403883562053852.post-62165669922148681352021-02-24T15:48:30.858-07:002021-02-24T15:48:30.858-07:00He was very good at being politically neutral. That would be a big influencing factor given that many democratic states have many republicans that live outside the cities.
And if the US splits in such a way, D.C. goes to neither. It becomes a neutral "tourist attraction" that people from both new countries can visit to learn about the past.Kimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13393576986900325094noreply@blogger.com
