But I found a reference that says: yes in terms of aurora frequency.

On cloud cover... This is just a rough guess... this time of year the weather tends to change frequently in the continental US, as the jet stream wave pattern is active and at our latitudes. So my guess for your area would be a substantial variation in cloud cover from day to day.

The reference: https://science.nasa.gov/science-news/science-at-nasa/2008/20mar_springStormCchaserhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02998174514362089471noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2807403883562053852.post-59125785567743067302017-03-28T19:40:54.728-06:002017-03-28T19:40:54.728-06:00To be more precise: cloud cover. To be more precise: cloud cover.Clayton Cramerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03258083387204776812noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2807403883562053852.post-71411032170241039912017-03-28T19:36:56.449-06:002017-03-28T19:36:56.449-06:00John: In your experience, is late April likely to ...John: In your experience, is late April likely to give us auroras?Clayton Cramerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03258083387204776812noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2807403883562053852.post-53330398557347472952017-03-25T18:34:26.053-06:002017-03-25T18:34:26.053-06:00It is hardly a claim - it's a fact. Radio signal propagation is greatly affected. Amateur radio operators know that they can use less power on higher frequencies to talk long distance when there are a lot of sunspots.StormCchaserhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02998174514362089471noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2807403883562053852.post-89326878391453786522017-03-25T08:47:14.525-06:002017-03-25T08:47:14.525-06:00Hi Clayton, I lived in Alaska 25 yrs, including 3 ...Hi Clayton, I lived in Alaska 25 yrs, including 3 in Squarebanks. This site shows sunrise/sunset times
http://www.alaska.org/weather/daylight-hours/fairbanks/april

Best times for the aurora are gingsenerally 2 am to 5 am. Chena Hot Springs is about 60 mi. east of Fairbanks, there is a lodge with an indoor/outdoor pool. It is a blast to be watching the aurora at 50 below in a hot pool.

I hope you guys can make it up there. Fairbanks has a strong gun rights commnity, you might contact locals to see about giving a talk there.

John Cunninghamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07512292512993140028noreply@blogger.com
