The Sherline vise turns out to be aluminum, but the new sine vise is steel and this should help greatly.Clayton Cramerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03258083387204776812noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2807403883562053852.post-55422229452189958462019-03-19T11:10:59.886-06:002019-03-19T11:10:59.886-06:00Will: Thanks. 36 Sunburst Rd., Horseshoe Bend, ID ...Will: Thanks. 36 Sunburst Rd., Horseshoe Bend, ID 83629

I am getting more competent with the parallels, but this would help a lot.Clayton Cramerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03258083387204776812noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2807403883562053852.post-28167622862616746322019-03-18T19:32:14.535-06:002019-03-18T19:32:14.535-06:00Some stainless steel is magnetic. Tends to be slightly weaker magnet holding than regular steel, IIRC.Willhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00722792638246578812noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2807403883562053852.post-61312473647313486582019-03-18T19:28:36.462-06:002019-03-18T19:28:36.462-06:00Clayton,

Anyway, even with the paper cover, it holds a full size parallel to a drillpress size vise. (old stuff, so no guarantee the sticky side is still good, although it sticks to my finger)

I'll throw some in an envelope, if you want. Also have a bunch of scrap pieces of magnetic signs, about half as thick, that I can send along.Willhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00722792638246578812noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2807403883562053852.post-51206692341825536182019-03-18T05:45:11.936-06:002019-03-18T05:45:11.936-06:00Good point.

I have a roll of the stuff. Might be 3/8" wide, maybe 1/2". Willhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00722792638246578812noreply@blogger.com
