Hold the half with the pit in your hand, pit up, using a towel for additional protection. Lightly strike the pit with the full blade of a knife, twist to release and remove the pit, then pinch the pit off the knife from the backside.Christopher Bhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00396671757183163171noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2807403883562053852.post-37437583423629361662015-07-17T07:53:39.535-06:002015-07-17T07:53:39.535-06:00Most folks use the edge of the knife, not the poin...Most folks use the edge of the knife, not the point:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eGd6GfHG77Ijdegehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01495457567906071678noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2807403883562053852.post-22937864853108765802015-07-17T05:52:24.559-06:002015-07-17T05:52:24.559-06:00Run the knife all around the circumference all the...Run the knife all around the circumference all the way down to the pit, then pull the two halves apart. If they don't break cleanly it wasn't ripe. If you only need half the avocado put the half with the pit (leave the pit in) in the fridge. When you are ready to use it, cut off the oxidized layer of flesh.Jumped Up NeoBarbhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12849812810262944931noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2807403883562053852.post-90824257485198029092015-07-17T04:22:12.731-06:002015-07-17T04:22:12.731-06:00I use the belly of the blade, not the tip - and it...I use the belly of the blade, not the tip - and it works well.Fidelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14623013337654868540noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2807403883562053852.post-84327423835417182812015-07-16T23:47:57.643-06:002015-07-16T23:47:57.643-06:00OUCH. And let me tell you, when a pale man strides puposefully into the ER holding a red and white cloth in both hands, the admitting clerks do not make you wait in line, or even sit down to fill out forms. I hope your adventure didn't require more stitches or affect anything complicated or expensive in your hand.Windy Wilsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01951254236693386401noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2807403883562053852.post-35821797792898807912015-07-16T21:25:31.647-06:002015-07-16T21:25:31.647-06:00Ouch!
