The Blazing World (Funny History)
Bishop Juxon and his chancellor (why did a bishop need a chancellor?) Dr. Arthur Duck went on a visitation of their diocese. As they traveled, they subject to catcalls, jostling, and quacking.
"In March 1636 Charles I entrusted Juxon with important secular duties by making him Lord High Treasurer of England as well as First Lord of the Admiralty."
One imagines the chancellor was for his secular roles, not his bishop-ness.
